Ask (item,price)
This command asks a nearby planet or starbase if they are interested in trading. It should be used before a Buy or Sell command. It greatly increases the chance of trade taking place, plus it allows you to suggest a price.
examples:
Sell command).
Buy command).
Assign (skill, points)[, shipname]
Thanx to Vaebn Hwaehrai for his suggestions for ship skills.
Assigns unused points to skills. You can assign points to any of the ship skills listed in your turn update. Make sure you include the shipname of the ship you wish to assign points for if you have more than one ship.
Ships automatically recieve some skills. However, individual characters must actually earn them. See Skills for more information. Note that each skill cannot exceed 100 points.
Attack (target)
Attacks the target specified. Target may be a ship name, planet or starbase name. You will be notified of the results in your turn update. This command may take your whole turn.
example: attack (terok nor)
attacks a ship or starbase named terok nor.
Begin (id, password)
This must be the first command of your turn. Id is the Player ID you receive with your startup information. Password is the password you requested in your initial application. If your password is incorrect, your turn will be ignored and you will be notified. Each turn update you receive will have your Player ID and current password, as a reminder. Passwords are case sensitive.
example: begin (r01, secret)
begins turn for player r01 if password is secret.
Buy (item, quantity)
Buys items if they are available. If you are unable to afford the number of units requested, or if there aren't that many available, you will buy as many as possible. Torpedoes are automatically loaded. You may attempt to use this command to buy almost anything.
example: buy (torpedo, 25)
attempts to buy 25 torpedoes.
Cloak (on | off)
For vessels equipped with a Cloaking Device, this command will turn your Cloaking Device on or off. If your Cloaking Device is on, it will be listed as "Active" in the System section of your Turn Update.
Finish
This indicates the end of your turn. Any commands listed after Finish will be ignored.
Goto (destination)
Travel directly to specified destination. If the destination is too far, you will travel as far as possible towards the destination. For destination, you may give a name taken from a map, the name of a starbase or ship, a ship's registry, or a brief description of where you want to go. Use goto (WORMHOLE) to enter a wormhole. You can only use this command to go to a ship if you know the ships rough location. This command will attempt to take you where you specify by the shortest route, at maximum warp. If using this command to go to a specific planet, please include the sector that the planet is in.
examples:
Hail (ship, method)
This command will attempt to open hailing frequencies with another ship. You must give the name of the ship you wish to hail. Method is used to indicate how you would like to communicate. Valid options are Email (other ship will be given your email address) and ICQ (other ship will be given your UIN, which you should supply next to this command). Feel free to suggest a different hailing method.
If the other ship decides to accept your hail, you will recieve a subspace email (or ICQ message) from them. Please note that not everyone has access to ICQ, so email may be a better option. If you wish to include a short message to send, do so using a comment on the line after the Hail command. Once you have established communications with the other ship, there is no need to use this command - you can just email them directly.
example: hail (defiant, email)
Attempts to open hailing frequencies with Defiant via email.
Hire (crew type)
Hires crew. Each squad consists of 10 crew. Note that there are some special groups that are available to each race, for example Romulans may hire Tal Shiar Squads. To find out about race specific crew types, email me. Crew types can be one of the following, but feel free to suggest new crew types.
Npc (mission)[, npc or ship name]
Thanx to Nikolai Twycross for his suggestions for this command.
This command allows you to send NPC's on missions, providing you have hired an NPC. If you do not include a specific name of an npc (non-player character) or nps (non-player ship), the mission will automatically be assigned to the most suitable npc or nps for the mission.
Other {commands}
Use this command to do things not listed here. I realize that my imagination, while being rather good, is not perfect so feel free to use this command to do anything you wish to do. If there are several similar commands issued using this command, I will add a command to cover them. There is no example for this command.
Recommend (sector, planet)
Use this command to recommend construction of a colony or mine to your race leader. If you find a planet with a large ammount of minerals, or one that is inhabitable, you can let your race leader know about it. This command takes 5 time units.
Recruit
Thanx to Nikolai Twycross for his suggestions for this command.
This command can be used to hire NPC's. These NPC's may be engineers, starship captains, diplomats, etc. What kind of NPC is recruited is randomly determined, if this command is successful. You can only recruit NPC's if you have at least one race point, and the number of NPC's you employ cannot excede the number of race points you possess. Note that most NPC's will require regular payment for their services.
Repair (system)[, duration]
Repair a damaged system. Engineers will work for the duration given, adding 2% each time unit. Omitting the duration will cause work to continue until the system is fixed. Cannot be used to raise a system above 100%. Each turn all damaged systems will automatically be repaired 1%, on top of any repair commands. Repairing at a friendly starbase adds 5% instead of the 2%.
Repairing the special system ALL (must be uppercase) will attempt to repair all damaged systems on all ships. Each system will gradually increase by 2%. This cannot have a duration, it lasts until all systems are repaired or the end of the turn is reached.
examples:
Scan (system | heading)
Scans a specified system or sector in the direction given. Use the heading table found in the Warp command for headings. Any ships or space anomalies found will be reported in your turn update. This command uses 20 time units to scan a sector, and 5 time units to scan a ship or planet. To scan the sector you are currently in, use scan (HERE).
examples:
Sell (item,quantity)
Sells a given item to a planet or starbase. There is a chance that they will not purchase the item. To increase the chance that they will buy, use the Ask command first
example: sell (medical supplies, 10)
sells 10 units of medical supplies to a starbase or planet in need of them.
Trade (ship, send, recieve)
Trades items with other ships. Send is the item you wish to send. Recieve is the item you are expecting to recieve. Trade will not take place until both players have sent this command. Items can be minerals, latinum, or anything else you have on board your ship. You must specify the ammount of each item being traded.
Warp (heading, speed, distance)
Travel in the direction stated at the warp speed desired for a set distance. Use the following as a guide for headings:
| 315 | 000 | 045 |
| 270 | POS | 090 |
|---|---|---|
| 225 | 180 | 135 |
where POS is your current position.
example: warp (000, 5, 3)
Warp at heading 000, traveling at warp 5 for three grid squares
