The following list shows any updates that have been made to the Star Trek : Evolution website. Also shown are any changes to player status. The newest entry will appear at the top. If you experience any problems with any part of the website, please email me so that I can fix it as soon as possible. Please try and be as descriptive as possible when reporting errors, as this will enable me to rectify the problem quicker.
11-2
I am making some changes to the way battle is handled. From now on, each "round" of a battle will use up .1 time units, instead of 1 time unit. Also now races will need to have a supply of Trillium 323 in order to produce torpedoes.
10-2
Mr Yoda has joined the Klendathi Empire. Jase has joined the Bajoran Alliance. Daimon Bok has joined the Ferengi Trade Alliance. Captain Sheridan has joined the Federation. Priest has joined the Keltic Nation. Added a new structure type.
28-1
Dumar has joined the Cardassian Union. I have changed the Foreign Relations pages to a more automated system. Now when Race Leaders make changes, these changes will be shown immediately. Hopefully the new system will work smoothly.
20-1
I have added a price table and a page explaining the minerals. I have also added a new structure type and a new race leader command.
18-1
I have added a Timeline to the site. The timeline will be set up similar to this page, except it will show events occuring in the game, using stardates. If you wish to add an event to the timeline, simply email me with the event and the date it occured.
11-1
Because of all of the recent problems with the Race Leader Command Center, I have decided to change it. You will now be taken to a page where you will be asked to enter your password. If you enter your password incorrectly, you will be taken to a page saying "Page not found" (or something similar). D' Sar has been elected Proconsul of the Romulan Star Empire.
8-1
Daniel Cloud has left the Federation. Crescat has joined the Ferengi Trade Alliance. K'nar has joined the Cardassian Union.
4-1
The Character Skills have been changed. Now instead of players recieving skills, they start with all of the skills and these skills increase. If the problems with the Player Data Area and the Race Leader Command Center do not cease shortly, I will put them back to the way they were. This will make them less secure, but at least they will be accessible.
22-12
Da Reapa has stood down from the position of Praetor. Praetor Tomalok has taken his place.
21-12
Some changes have been made to the Race Leader Command Center. The Report menu now allows for more than one report to be requested at a time. There is also a new menu, Ship Assignments, which gives Race Leaders some control over the unused ships in their fleet. A new Character Skill has been added.
9-12
Sybok has become the leader of the Vulcan Council. I have modified the ship production rules (again) to make them more fair. Ships now only require 10 units of industrial metals per hull size instead of 100. I will be using a similar system to the Player Data Area to secure the Race Leader Command Center, as well as changing the layout slightly. Instead of loading each section in a new window, it will be using frames. I have added 3 new colony types, as well as a new crew type.
8-12
All of the race-specific files have been moved into the passworded directories. Quwark has stood down from the position of Grand Nagus. Grand Nagus Nurgle has taken his place.
3-12
The new, fully secure Player Data area is now ready. Not all of the files have been moved into the passworded directories, but this should be done in a few days. When you log in, you will be asked to enter your username and password. Your username is your player ID (i.e r07) and your password is your current password. This means that once all the files have been moved, you will only have access to the starmap, race relations and shipyard of your race. If any race leaders would like to give access to this information to a member of another race, email me and I will set it up. Over the next week or two I will be adding some more colony types to the game.
1-12
The old site will be left up until I can upload all of the maps. Some changes have been made to ship production as well as warp. Warp drives will now consume 1 unit of Dilithium for every 20 hexes travelled (this doesnt affect romulan vessels, as romulan warp technology relies on quantum singularities). To make things fair for everyone, each player will be given 10 units of Dilithium to start with. Shipyards will now require 1000 latinum and 100 units of industrial metals (multiplied by hull size) to construct ships. So a ship of hull size 5 would cost 5000 latinum and 500 metals. Industrial metals include nickel, iron, copper, aluminium and titanium. The "Shipyard" section of the Race Leader Command Center is undergoing a change, once completed race leaders will be able to specify what class of ship each shipyard is producing. The Ship Construction section will be seperated into its own window. I am also going to be making some changes to the Player Data Area. These changes will make it more secure, as well as controlling access to race details such as the starmap. William Gossard has stepped down from his position as President of the United Federation of Planets.
27-11
The new site is now up and running. The sites appearance has changed slightly, but hopefully the new layout will be less confusing and easier to navigate. The Embassy section of the Race Leader Command Center has also undergone a facelift. A number of new commands have been added, as well as a downloadable copy of the rulebook. If you experience any difficulty with the site, please email me. The old site will be taken down on the first of december. The mailing lists have also been removed, so any email you send must be sent to [email protected]. Starting in December, you will recieve a monthly newsletter. This newsletter will contain information about your races progress over the previous month, as well as travellers reports concerning nearby races. Messages sent via the Message Center will also be placed in the monthly newsletter. The player data area has also been updated, and there is now a Galactic Market where players and race leaders can trade items with each other. Thanx to Robert Skippie for his suggestion of both the Galactic Market and the monthly newsletter. Please note that the maps are still not fully uploaded, however I hope to have them uploaded very shortly.
23-11
Qua'lon has become the new Chancellor of the Klingon Empire.
16-11
I have added a page listing all of the natural elements that you will come across during the game. Construction has begun on the new site. I have added the link to the map viewer on the main page. A new Race Leader command, Trade, has been added.
12-11
I have added a Map Viewer. This will allow you to view the map of any sector that is not on your starmap. I will be adding a link to it from the main page shortly. To use it, simply enter in the sector coordinates and then click "Ok".
10-11
Lord Hawk has become the leader of the Betazoids.
09-11
The problem with the Race Leader Command Center has been fixed. I have now developed a program to handle all ship combat. There may be a few problems with it, but overall it appears to be working very well. I will be developing a few more programs over the next month or so. All of the programs I am developing will make turns a lot easier and quicker to process, which means you will probably recieve turn updates quicker. They will also mean that the waiting time between when someone sends in an application and when they recieve their startup information will be reduced. A new colony type has been added. The "Trade" Treaty has been removed. All existing trade treaties have been stopped. It will be replaced by a more adjustable treaty type shortly. A new science, "Terraforming", has been added.
